"LET IT GO"
BIO
There’s something about knowing where home is, and finding it in the familiar things - comforting smells and tastes, images that trigger memories, sounds, inside jokes…the stuff that reminds us of where we come from. Kilika Tabron is no stranger to artistry. His craft has been developed through an abundance of experiences as a web/graphic designer, photographer, videographer, and producer, and singer. Since being born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Chicago-based creative has made his mark as a rap artist through his unique presence in homegrown groups (The Force, 6 Way St.), considerable collaborations, and personal investments in his own talent.
And there’s no shortage of talent. Fans will feel at home in the nostalgia of his sound. The flow: some say it reminds them of a 2004-Late Registration-esque Kanye. The lyrics: warm, wise, deep and layered, that make the 90s babies think of Talib Kweli or a miseducated Lauryn Hill. The vibe: Energetic, but mellow. Soulful and current. They say that home is where the heart is. And though Kilika has made his home everywhere from Indianapolis to Hawaii, his heart is what you’ll hear every time you listen.
